Kalymnos is a traditional lively island with a friendly and hospitable population, and serviced throughout the year. Best known as the island of some of the world’s finest sponge divers, it has now become a world recognized center for climbers. It has not become a busy tourist center having preserved its authenticity, and local character.

Access from Athens is by plane (1 h flight/10 flights a week) or by ferry-boat (12 h). Access from the neighboring island of Kos is by short ferry rides (20 mn).
