Thassos, a verdant island, rich in archeological sites has plenty of lovely sandy beaches and picturesque villages. It can be reached by plane from Athens via the town of Kavala. Ferryboats connect Kavala to Thassos (90 mn ride) or Keramoti to Thassos (40 mn ride).
